Remembering Aaliyah

Today would have been Alliyah's 32nd year on earth. Today I wanted to take the time to honor her and her talents. More than a Woman was one of my favorite songs by the songstress. During this time was the beginning of her transition from young lady to woman! Aaliyah you are gone but never ever FORGOTTEN! Your music still lives on...

Soncerae: The Ultra Model

Soncerae, OMG!!!! I love that name! It alone speaks POWER to me for some reason.

Model, Socialite and President of BlockDymez National Social Organization has made a name for herself in the industry. The surname “The Ultra Model” came as a result of ridicule Soncerae received about her size. She was too small to fit plus size model measurements and was too large to fit super model size measurements thus she became “ultra”. Soon after “Ultra Model” became a new genre of modeling.

Soncerae has her hand is so many things ranging from volunteering, charities, philanthropy and countless generous acts of generosity, that being an Ultra Model also became a lifestyle for the DIVA.

She is also a three time nominee for “Model of The Year” by The Southern Entertainment Awards. BlockDymez Magazine is also nominated for Impact Magazine of the Year by the SEA's. The Washington DC Native has been featured on and in countless online and print magazines.

In 2006 She relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Soncerae is known for hosting big industry events with tastemakers, celebrities and socialites in the southeast. Along the way she lead a troop of popular models called The Omigawd Girls who helped promote Omigawd Magazine. After leaving Omigawd Magazine as Marketing

Director, Soncerae formulated the BlockDymez of Atlanta. The concept spread so wide so quickly that BlockDymez turned into a social organization with chapters all over the United States and United Kingdom.Soncerae is on her GRIND and is sure on her Boss sh!t!

The MMI Takeover

The always grinding artist found himself in south Georgia, the city of Valdosta, where his new found talent for hustling everything from watches to shoes earned him the title ”the boom man", which was converted to L.A. Da Boomman by his many customers that said he always had something BOOMING. As his hustle man popularity grew, so did his conviction to do bigger things, and he soon opened one of the most visited hip hop stores in Valdosta which then led to doing promotions, vaulting him to become Valdosta's biggest club promoter. In early 2009 L.A. decided to put the ATL back in his sights, commuting back and forth, reestablishing vital connections, and making the ones he had made through promotions even stronger. During this time L.A. teamed up with super producer KE, and the team started putting out hit music. L.A. Da Boomman has established himself as one of the ATLs hottest underground artist. He has released several outstanding mix tapes hosted by leading DJ’s such as DJ Scream, and had several of his own singles bubbling in the streetz including a underground hit "Dey On My" which has features by Wacka Flacka, Roscoe Dash, Jmoney and Grand Hustles Young La. And with so much under his young industry belt, L.A. Da Boomman is ready to step out of the background and be the spotlight.

L.A./MMI is also credited for signing recording artist, ROSCOE DASH, who at the time had one of the biggest hits with Travis Porter but was having a hard time establishing himself.

Teaming up with the CEO of the Street Associate's Cornell "Gip" to form a new merger MMI/STREETASSOCIATES going into 2011, he's now preparing to put that engine own project, which includes a hot new mix tape hosted by Hot107.9's mix show director himself, Poster Child J1 and Hoodrich's Dj Scream plus the release of a hot new single featuring Roscoe Dash, "They Say" produced by MMI's own KE on the Track. Definitely be on the lookout for the explosion that is about to come at the end of 2010 along with the madness that will surround L.A. D Boomman in 2011, don’t get caught sleeping on this upcoming superstar/young mogul!!

Boomman is also featured in ROCHARDER Magazine, which is scheduled to drop January 17.

Justin Daye: BPN...The BRAND

Justin Daye...BPN's H.N.I.C!
BPN? BackPack Nation is the BRAND Justin has created. Coming out of Flint, with TeamBPN riding hard for him he is on his way to stardom.
I listened to Start the Show...had it on repeat for 2 hours straight.
Justin, 18, began composing lyrics at the age of 8. He has gone from outdoing his peers lyrically to pushing the envelope further than your average rap artist. He considers Jay-Z, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Lauryn Hill, Cyndi Lauper, and many more influential figures in music. Although some might compare his rhyming style to Lupe Fiasco's, Justin does his absolute best finding his own voice. His second mixtape is scheduled to be released mid-Febuary of 2011. This time Justin is taking a different approach towards his music. "Music shouldn't only reflect society, but even create and shape a new one", explains Daye. The highly anticipated debut of "Imagination" will be Daye's first full length project. Justin Daye...Stamped and Approved!

YOODEE...Beybeyyyyyyyy

POWERHOUSE...this is the word that came to mind when I heard Yoodee's Yo Mama!!! My head was bobbing, wanted to hit the dance floor instantly!
Vocalist. Songwriter. Dancer. Fashionista. These are the few words that can be used to describe the newest edition to the R&B/Pop World, Yoodee Frances.
If you’re not convinced yet, just listen to the music.
Her sound is just as enticing as her name. Yoodee's music takes the high-energy elements of R&B/Pop and combines them with a gritty Hip Hop & Rock knock. Her lyrics? They knock even harder. In whatever subject she tackles in her music, she fearlessly conveys it.
"I am never afraid to be me," she notes.
Yoodee’s songs are a constant tug-of-war between sweetness & tough-girl attitude. And she shows no sign of letting up.
This stunner with a big voice sure hits all the right notes when it comes to fashion as well. She’s been singing for most of her life: starting like most in church. She never thought that music was her destiny, given a strict religious upbringing. At the age of 17 she began studying fashion (another passion of hers) at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. While in New York City, she was introduced to several producers, began writing songs, and very soon afterwards packed up her bags & moved to New York City to pursue a music career seriously.
Currently Yoodee is working on an album & performing live shows everywhere, including her most recent stint at Pop Montreal in Canada. With a rapidly growing fanbase, whom she refers to as her "Bunnies", Yoodee is making a name for herself in the industry.

**EXCLUSIVE** NO SPOTESMANSHIP

When I heard the term, NO SPOTESMANSHIP, I had to see what this was all about. My brain immediately said ARROGANCE! So I did a little digging and here is what I was able to find what the term "NO SPOTESMANSHIP" means: unphased by the rinky dink trends that would inevitably die, whether an innovative attempt to recycle or an insulting shot at originality. A Ralph Lauren fanatic, who likes Nickleback, dope on the ball court, and ridiculous on the mic.
I wasn't too far off and I fux with it HARD!!!
"Having emerged from the underworld of hip hop culture, where so many of the culture’s artistic martyrs rise from. I bring to you the reason label reps and head A&R’S who miss free throws get their ass chewed out", explains Mista Spote.
Spote has an array of influences ranging from Deon Sanders and Ceelo Goodie, to Ric Flair and foreign exotic women, Spote offers sound recording and performing arts in such rare form. He definitely extinguishes any notion of him being all party and bullshit and though the case, he intends to refrain from being tagged “another 80’s baby with a product of my environment story”.
The mass public wants to hear the thick of grit so with homicide cases, trafficking charges, and parole violations “real spit as he would say” all in his will to overcome, he seems determined to make his understanding understood.

So with that being said...Listen to the title track of Mista Spote's current project: NO SPOTESMANSHIP HD.

Mac Meezie Got My Attention

Mac Meezie wants us to PAY ATTENTION!! So, I did! I listened to "Crazy Life" and he had my attention immediately! I love the look, feeling his sound, and love the BOSS shit he on!
Mac Meezie aka Thug Boy

Born in the Eighties when Rap music was building it’s stronghold in the Music World. His Musical talents were influenced by a number of Rap Artist such as Biggie and Tupac, Dr.Dre, Three Six.  As A young child growing up with keyboards, guitars, drum machines and a recording studio in the house and knowing how to operate the equipment  at six years old.  His parents wanted him to be the best at whatever he decided to do.  Trying to follow his parents business skills he started a few little business ventures of his own.  He was selling toys and clothes to his friends and understanding how business works. After wards his parents got a CD-burner and he began copying, mixing and selling CD’s  and that’s when all hell broke loose.   He was selling CD’s faster than the local record shop. All of the local DJ’s and all of his friends was buying his mix CD’s. He was selling around a hundred a week at $5.00 a CD.  He knew how to make money. Then he figured out how to create his own music using Cakewalk and started his own rap group. This was the beginning of something that he could never let go of.  With his group they learned to write and rhyme all with his composed music.  They would practice in his parent’s office after business hours.  With the help of his parents they traveled to many southern Music conferences trying to be heard by Major record labels.  Being he was only in the six grade and had won a lot of talent shows going to the conferences and not getting any deals was not enough to stop him.  The group split after being together for a couple of years but still remained friends.
Now solo he began working hard on his producing skills.  His parents upgraded his equipment and introduced him to an up and coming producer Street Symphony also a friend and producer from Atlanta, Noah Craig. After Listening to them, his music began to grow.  After a while everyone in his hometown wanted to rap on his tracks.  After discussing it with his father and trying to convince him that he was really serious about being a producer, his father and a friend converted an office into a recording studio for his birthday.  But the deal was, he had to run it as a business and sell the music he was creating.  By this time he was working with Nuendo and looking at pro-Tools.  At 14 his father forced him to use Pro-Tools to do all of his recording.
Once the word got out that he had the hottest tracks and a studio to record in, people were coming from everywhere.  He started to make his own money again.  Now he was getting it all, producing, engineering, writing and rapping.  Some days he would never leave the studio except to clean up. He was selling tracks at a $100.00 to $200 each, and recording at $25.00 an hour.  On A bad day he would make $250.00 and on good days $750.00 to 1,500.00. While attending high school he was allowed to attend college for credits also.  This allowed him to get a year of college while still in high school.  Since he already knew how to use pro-Tools getting a certificate in music technology was easy to obtain.
While he was running his studio he was also involved in the streets which eventually would decide his fate. After almost losing everything he had including his freedom he was blessed with a second chance. Walking away from a life of crime and drug dealing in his hometown he moved to Atlanta to start a new life. He has made major networks with big names in the entertainment industry throughout the years of his career.
